Mixed preparation record with 2 wins, 2 draws, and 3 losses. El Farissi's departure is offset by Hbouch's arrival, and the returns of starters Burlet and Capuano from loan spells, alongside signings Lenne and Besic. Much continuity expected in the starting XI this season, likely still a 5-3-2 setup, though a 4-3-3 was occasionally used during prep. Two more recruits are still expected to increase offensive competition, notably a striker and possibly a winger. Colin Dagba, on trial, could also sign as backup to Platret. Warning: several injuries heading into the season. Lécolier has a fractured collarbone (return October), Fatar has a thigh injury (return mid-September), and Moco is still affected by the serious eye injury he suffered last spring.
Key players
Blondy Nna Noukeu who had a preparation at the same pace as his January arrival. Jonas Martin, when in form, brings plenty of solidity. Adel Hbouch who returns to showcase all his qualities as he had already done in National with Boulogne.
Players to watch
Aymane Nassiri will start the season as a starter, after a strong finish to preparation. Nolan Binet has the chance to confirm his very good season last year. Versatile Antoine Kerriou, signed in January but who finished the season on loan at Herbiers, was the most used player throughout the entire preparation.
The fan's bet
The second season will be just as difficult for Boulogne, who had to take gambles on their transfer market moves. Fortunately, very few major departures from the squad, allowing USBCO to bet on continuity for this new season. The opening matches could be tricky going forward with two starters sidelined by injury: it will be crucial to see if market targets materialize quickly.
