There was significant uncertainty around a potential club sale during the off-season, but ultimately the Nicollin family decided to stay. The starting lineup at the back remains unchanged from last season. Captain Laporte will partner with Mouanga (injury-prone), with Sainte Luce and Tchato on the flanks. Meddah will serve as a backup centre-back if needed while El Hannach will cover the fullback positions. In midfield, new signings Meddah and Tardieu should feature alongside Chennahi. Everson Jr will also be in the mix with Homssa and Ayem providing rotation options. Up front, Camara arrives to replace Mendy in the striker role, Pays will continue on his right flank while on the left, the spot will be contested between Issoufou and Mukiele on loan from Rennes
Key players
The partnership of Simon N. and Laporte (Captain) will continue to be just as solid as last year. In midfield, Chennahi, last season's breakout star, will be looking to prove he's become a reliable asset. In attack, Pays will be the main man after fully adapting to professional football
Players to watch
The players to watch this season will surely be the two left wingers Issoufou and Mukiele. Two young players with plenty of promise but who have yet to prove much at the professional level.
The fan's bet
Finishing 7th last year, the squad hasn't necessarily strengthened but hasn't weakened either. It's the coach Zoumana Camara's second season and he'll need to match or surpass that 7th place finish. I can see us comfortably finishing in the top 7 again in a very competitive Ligue 2 this season, with a top 5 and a playoff spot being a bonus
