This Saturday, just days after the setback against Mallorca (3-0), PSG took on Manchester United in their 2nd friendly of the season. Things started really well for the Parisians, who quickly opened the scoring through Mbaye after a nice team move. 30 minutes later, Bryan Mbeumo equalized for United, and the score didn't change after that.
With the first big fixture of the year against Aston Villa just days away, Luis Enrique was able to bring on a few of his World Cup winners around the hour mark, and they already looked sharp: Marquinhos, Nuno Mendes, Vitinha, and Joao Neves. That's a good sign ahead of Wednesday's match, where Maghnes Akliouche could make his debut in PSG colors. The French internationals, as well as Achraf Hakimi and Fabian Ruiz, are in contention to be part of the squad, as they rejoin team training this Monday.
Worth noting that Lucas Chevalier didn't come on, with Luis Enrique instead opting to give minutes to young keeper Alessandro Longoni, who arrived from AC Milan. Everyone can form their own opinion on that choice... but it's not exactly a great sign for the former Lille man.
